At Buddio, Inc. (“Buddio”, “we”, “us”), we understand how important the privacy of your information is. This policy gives you more information about our privacy practices, including about what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
By using or accessing our Services in any way, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Use of Buddio’s Services is also governed by our Terms of Use (“Terms”), and capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as in our Terms. . We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand how your information will be collected, used and disclosed in connection with our Services.
What Information We Collect
Background
“Personal information” means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked with you, directly or indirectly. Sometimes we collect personal information you provide directly, and sometimes we collect personal information automatically when you interact with our Services. At times, we may also collect personal information about you from other sources and third parties. Please see below for examples of the categories of personal information we collect.
Buddy Information
If you choose to invite a “Buddy” to use the Services using our Buddy system, we will ask you for their name and email address. We will use this data to invite him or her to join the Services. We store this data for the sole purpose of sending invitations and monitoring the success of our Buddy program. We will share, based on your selections your data with your invited Buddy. If you don't want your buddy to have access to your data, you can opt-out of Buddy System via mobile app or website or support@buddio.io. Or your Buddy can opt-out of Buddy System via mobile app or website or contact us @ support@buddio.io.
Account Information
When you register for an account, we will ask for information such as your name, email address, username, password, gender and marital status.
Wellness Information
We collect wellness information, including but not limited to information about your mood, step count and sleep patterns in the course of providing you with the Services.
Location Information
The Services include features that use precise geolocation data. We collect this type of data if you grant us access to your location. You can always remove our access using your mobile device settings. When you allow us to collect precise location information, we use that information to provide and improve features of the Services such as activity recommendation or mapping an activity.
Testimonials
If you enjoy our Services, we may ask if you would like to provide a testimonial of your experience. Providing this testimonial is entirely voluntary. If you choose to provide us with a testimonial, you grant us the right to use this testimonial for our own purposes, such as in advertising, and to share it with third parties as described in accordance with our Terms.
Payment Information
When you create an account for our Services, you may be asked to provide payment information to pay for your use of the Services. You may also be required to provide other personal information to ensure that the transaction is properly authorized, such as your address, zip code, and CVV number (the three-digit number on the back of your credit card). We may share this information with third parties as is necessary to process your payment (for example, with a credit-card processing service).
Automatically Collected Information
As is true of most digital platforms, we collect certain information automatically when you visit our Services, including:

Personal Information from Other Sources and Third Parties
We also obtain personal information from other sources, which we often combine with personal information we collect either automatically or directly from you, including:

Information provided by social networks. When you interact with the Services through various social media networks, such as when you “Like” us on Facebook or when you follow us or share our content on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Instagram or other social networks, we may receive some information about you that you permit the social network to share with third parties. We use this information to better understand the demographics of our customers and to inform our advertising and marketing activities. The data we receive depends on your privacy settings with the social network. You should always review and, if necessary, adjust your privacy settings on third party websites and social media networks and services before linking or connecting them to our Services.

Information we receive from authentication services you connect to the Services. Some parts of the Services may allow you to login through a third party social network or authentication service provider such as Facebook, Google or Apple. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us, which could include your name, email address, address book and contacts, or other information. The data we receive is dependent on that third party’s policies and your privacy settings on the applicable third-party service.

Information provided by others. From time to time, we may receive information about you from third parties and other users. For example, we may obtain information from our marketing partners or from third parties to enhance or supplement our existing user information. We may also collect information about you that is publicly available. We may combine this information with the information we collect from you directly.

Information provided by our affiliates. We may receive information about you from our affiliates so that information you provide to one company may be used by another company to provide you Services, communicate with you or provide you advertisements or other personalized content.
Advertising and Analytics
In addition to the information described above, we use cookies, web-beacons, pixel tags, and other tracking technologies to analyze the characteristics and behavior of people using the Services, in order to better target our advertising for the Services, to track success of particular advertisements, and to gauge usage and success of the Services. The information we collect within the Services may include which pages or parts of the program users visit and specific actions taken on pages or within the program (for example, answering “yes” to a specific question). This data may be merged with technology (browser and device used, etc.), demographic, and behavior data gathered by Facebook or Google Analytics in a de-identified and/or aggregated manner.
We may use Facebook Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and/or other services or methods to analyze this data and apply it to advertising campaigns, using Custom Audiences, Google User ID, and/or other tools. The data that we provide Facebook, Google, or other service providers does not contain identifying information, and cannot be used by these services to identify you. Your data from your use of the Services, individually or aggregated with data from other users of Buddio or visitors to the Services, may be used to identify users most likely to use Buddio, or to complete certain actions within the program (for example, finishing the program), or to determine other aspects of user behavior, both for site optimization and for advertisement targeting.

How We Use Your Personal Information
We use the information we collect to:

Register and authenticate you: we use your personal information to allow you to register for the Services and update your profile information.

If you choose to contact us, we may need additional information to fulfill your request or respond to your inquiry. We may provide additional privacy disclosures where the scope of the inquiry/request and/or personal information we require fall outside the scope of this Privacy Policy. In that case, the additional privacy disclosures will govern how we may process the information you provide at that time.
We retain your personal information as long as is reasonably appropriate in connection with our performance of the Services. We may continue to use your information in deidentified and/or aggregated form after you have discontinued your use of the Services.
Consumer Choices
Some personal information, such as your name and email address, is required to create an account. If you do not wish to provide this information, you will not be able to use Buddio.
Most browsers allow you to set your browser not to accept cookies (see your browser’s “Settings,” “Privacy,” or “Help” function). If you choose not to allow cookies, Buddio may not function properly.

Whenever prompted by Buddio to provide wellness information, you have the choice to provide it or not. Choosing not to provide some information may inhibit Buddio’s ability to function (for example, if you choose not to provide information on your mood, then you will not be able to use the “mood journal” function).
If you wish for your personal data to be removed from the Services, you should cancel your account and contact us at support@buddio.io and request that your personal information be removed. We will delete your account, but due to technical limitations we may not be able to remove all of your information. In addition, some of your information may continue to be used in an aggregated and/or deidentified manner.
You may choose to opt-out of some emails from Buddio. You may do this by changing your email preferences in the “Settings” menu. Be aware that, if you elect not to receive emails, you will nonetheless be bound by any legal notices contained in those emails.
Security
Buddio cares about the security of your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures. You acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk.
How We Share Your Information
Within our Services, we provide the option for you to share your progress with a friend, therapist, or other individuals designated by you. To do this, you will be asked to provide their email address, phone number, name, gender, and other information about them. Choosing to share your progress with someone else is entirely voluntary. If you choose to do so, we will only use the email address and other information you provide us for the person you choose to share your progress with in order to send them emails regarding your progress. They may unsubscribe from these emails at any time, and you will not be notified. You may choose to discontinue sharing your progress with your friend or therapist at any time in the “Settings” menu.
Buddio will also share your information directly in the following cases:

In aggregated, non-identifiable form, with third parties, for the purposes of evaluating or demonstrating the use or effectiveness of our Services, conducting research, or other business purposes.

To comply with legal requirements such as laws, regulations, court orders, subpoenas, or search warrants.

With other businesses or contractors who provide services to Buddio requiring access to user data (for example, a payment processing company or a data analyst), subject to a nondisclosure commitment.

In deidentified form with advertising services, including Facebook Ads, Facebook Analytics, Google Analytics, and Google Ads, in order to allow us to optimize ad targeting, create custom audiences, and to analyze ad success and user behavior on the Services.

In the case of a merger, buyout, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred to a third party. In this case, your information will continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy unless any changes are made to this Policy, which would be in accordance with the process described below in “Changes to this Policy.”

After specifically asking for and receiving your consent, such as if you choose to utilize Buddio’s features allowing you to keep a friend or your mental health professional updated on your progress.
Buddio reserves the right to access and disclose any user information in the event that we reasonably believe such action necessary to enforce or apply Buddio’s Terms of Use or other agreements, or to protect Crisis Buddy Inc.’s rights, property (intellectual or physical), or safety, or that of its employees, users, or others.
Filing a Complaint
If you have questions or concerns about how your personal information or general data is being handled, please get in touch at support@buddio.io If you have wish to file a complaint about our privacy policy or how your data is being handled, you may report it to the data protection authority that is authorized to hear those concerns.
Additional Terms
Children
Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13.
If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has used our Service and provided Personal Information to us, please contact us at support@buddio.io, and we will work to delete that Personal Information from our servers as soon as possible..
If you are under the age of 18, you must have your parent's permission to access and use our Service.
Public Forums
Buddio features an associated community forum. In this forum, users may post content and read content posted by others.
Any information you post to the Buddio community forum is by its nature public. Therefore, Crisis Buddy Inc. cannot be held accountable for any negative effects arising from such postings.
Do not post information that you wish to keep private to a public forum on any site. Think carefully before posting any information that could be used to identify you (for example, your name, email address, physical address, or place of employment) on any public forum. As with any site, information you post to the Buddio community forum may be seen, collected, or distributed by third parties, and be used in ways which Crisis Buddy Inc. cannot control nor predict, including to contact you for unwanted purposes. All use of the public forum is governed by our Terms of Use.
If you have posted personal information to the Buddio Community Forum and wish to remove it, contact Buddio immediately at support@buddio.io, and we will do our best to remove it. However, in some cases we may not be able to remove the information.
Changes to this Policy
This policy may change. We will provide notice to you of material changes in a reasonable manner, such as by email, if you have chosen to receive emails from us, or by providing an updated policy the Buddio website. Please keep your email contact information up to date and read all notices we send you thoroughly. Continuing to use Buddio after the updated notice has been posted or sent out will constitute acceptance of the new privacy policy. We recommend that you check the Buddio website periodically for changes to this Privacy Policy and our Terms.
If you do not accept the changes made to the Privacy Policy, you must stop using Buddio immediately. Our use of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of collection.
